as a national fraternity:

Alpha Rho Chi, or APX, is a national, professional, co-ed fraternity for students of architecture and the allied arts. It was founded in 1914 to organize and unite in fellowship architectural students across the nation so as to promote the artistic, scientific and practical knowledge of the younger members of the profession.

Alpha Rho Chi chapters are located at universities with accredited schools of architecture. Chapter namesakes honor skilled ancient Greek, Roman, or Egyptian architects who have contributed to the foundation of architecture.

Alpha Rho Chi is proud of its history and boasts of the contributions to the profession and architectural education made by its alumni and active members.

as a local chapter:

Here at the University of Texas, we are the Dinocrates Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi.

The Dinocrates Chapter is a family of students working together to create greater good for the brothers and the University of Texas School of Architecture. The combined efforts of Dinocrates enable the individual to accomplish much more than could be done alone. With a noble history, a set of traditions, and many alumni, Dinocrates is a family which supports its brothers.

Our chapter unites students from various studies and years at the university. We are co-ed and our brothers study a variety of majors; among them, Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Studies and many other allied arts. It is from this diverse collection of brothers that the fraternity forms its family.
